Inspiration

This piece is meant to capture the mystery, beauty and strength of the Jaguar. To the Mayan, the Jaguar was “Lord of the Night, the Prowler and Guardian.” Mayan hieroglyphs, inscribed on the sculpture, invite the viewer to “Walk like a Jaguar; focusing your energy on the quarry of personal empowerment and using that power with integrity, demanding discipline, effort, and concentrated awareness.” The piece also bears a Mayan blessing for the protection of the building housing the sculpture and all who enter.
